Flow Properties of Polar and Non-Polar Hard-Rod Fluids

The orientational behavior and flow properties of polar and non-polar hard rod fluids subjected to a flow is investigated. The averaged orientation and dipole moments of rods are represented by the second rank alignment tensor and the dipole vector, respectively. In the framework of irreversible thermodynamics the governing equations for dipolar hard rod fluids are derived.
